Don’t throw cigarette butts out the window of your car.
Don’t throw other trash out on the streets.
Plant lots of flowers and trees.
They’re beautiful and make the air cleaner.
Pollution in the US has been sharply declining since the 80’s so let’s keep it up, OK?

start w/ your bedroom-change to cfl.unplug t.v/stereo/lamp when not in use.
turn off lights when you leave the room.
cut your showers in half.
stop buying soda-not good for you anyway.
take your lunch to school in reusable containers.
go meatless 2 times/week.
ride bike,take bus,carpool.
buy a reusable canvas shopping bag. buy your clothes at vintage/thrift shops.

Cut down on how much you’re using electronic equipment- computers, mp3 players, stereos, blow dryers etc
Use hot water bottles instead of an electric blanket
Have a colder shower, and use an egg timer
Take cloth bags to the store when going shopping
Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth
Eat locally-produced foods, foods grown preferably near where you live, or if not in your country (saves on fuel)
Recycle more often
Set up a garden so you can grow your own foods and so avoid using pesticides and no fuel needs to be used for transportation
In summer, instead of using an air-conditioner, go to the pool or use a hand-held fan
If you have climate control set it as near to the current temperature as possible
Put your mobile phone screen to “power-save” mode
Walk or cycle to places within a 2km radius of where you live- don’t get driven
Catch public transport as much as possible
I’d encourage you to see if you can find a book on the ethics of what we eat, a friend of mine got one for her 18th and she said it’s really interesting- I want to see if I can read up on it too

Don’t buy bottled water.
Eat less meat and try to support local farmers.
Recyle everything that you can
TEENS STOP LEAVING THE @#$$%^ LIGHTS ON!!!!!! (I’m a parent)
Google the term “phantom load” and do something about it by getting a power strip for all of your electronics and turning it off at nite.
STOP BUGGING YOUR PARENTS FOR MORE CLOTHES!!!!!! (just be satisfied with what you have, or go to goodwill or something, you do NOT need a new “Hollister” shirt every week)
Do not be part of the “consumerist” peer pressure group that mocks people who do not buy the latest fashions. JUST STOP the mocking, and start your own group that makes it “bad” to pressure people into being consumerist clones. I’m sorry, but as a parent I am sick of the teens who make it seem like if my kids do not buy all this new stuff they are not in fashion. That really ticks me off.
Ask your parents to turn down the heat and get a programmable thermostat.
Just put on wristwarmers with finger holes, a sweater, and etcetera.
Arrange carpools with your friends’ parents. As parents are often too busy to make so many calls and figure out who is going where, if YOU can pick up some of that burden and arrange carpools as much as possible.
Make lists of errands and what you need for your Mom. For example, she JUST got back from the store and you say, “oh, I forgot to tell you I need more shampoo” or something. Plan out “errand” plans so you can use only one car trip. Help your Mom do this, she may not have time to do it.
Plan your meals in advance. Make a weekly menu with a “buy” list. Then there are no more “extra” store trips when you forgot something.
DON’T SPEND ALL #$%^& MORNING IN THE SHOWER (yes, 5 minutes is enough time)
LOL that is my list
