How about starting with a furry purple blanket, then that can be your base and work from there. As for as the walls you can create your own pictures in frames. You can also use sheer, more of a lavender color for curtains still sticking with the same color sceam. Let me know if I can help further.

hmm.. I don’t have much to contribute, but you could on one wall draw a very large wave design, on the top sponge purple, and on the bottom sponge green. Another good one for the curtains and maybe even bed is have sheer purple draperies for the window frames, and maybe a canopy for the bed? And then purple bedsheets with green decoration pillows =]
Thats all I got at the moment, I’ll prolly have more ideas if you want later.

With fashion in mind, I have two visions for you:
#1: paint the walls a neutral cream color (if you want wash the walls with a tea color to age the walls), then draw large versions of fashion designs you like. For instance a sketch of a dress, a shirt and pant combo, some shoes. Use the walls as if they were a sketch pad and presenting sketches for a design team. If you can’t come up with them on your own, get a projector (available at Hobby Lobby or Michaels) and trace them on to the wall. Paint the dress purple, the shirt green or vice-versa. Take it and run!! Have fun!!
#2: Start with the neutral color and pin stripe your room with purple and green. Time consuming, for best results use a laser level (available at Lowe’s) and tape the stripes off. The check out Kirklands, Hobby Lobby, etc, for pictures of clothing or fashion.
Good Luck!!!

I decorated my daughter’s room in the same colors (purple & green) I purchased a furry purple blanket and sham…I then painted 2 of the walls purple and painted green blocks on them….I then painted the other 2 walls green and painted blocks of purple on them…I also purchased purple & green stiped curtains….Every girlfriend of my daughter’s end up going home to tell mom & dad how cute my daughter’s room is. (and wanting their bedrooms to look just like my daughter’s)

Wow! Fashion is such a great idea! Here’s some ideas…
1. Painting the walls with runways scenes is a big undertaking so try some framed art work or clear coating some fashion pics directly onto the wall… I like this one but it’s not the right color. It’ll give you an idea though…
Now this is more like it…
If you frame your pics do it in black and white, use the bold colors to accentuate the purples and greens in your room.
2. Let’s talk about paint! Is your room small? Do you want to make it look bigger? Try using a dark purple on the ceiling with a light green and light purple striping for the walls. You might even add dark purple pinstriping and gold to accentuate the stripes.
“Mystical purple” (650b-7) from Behr is a good dark for the ceiling color. Use “hushed white” (w-f-710) and “ice ballet” (650a-2) or “fresh heather” (650a-3) for the striping on the walls or pick your own colors at…
3. Lighting… Lighting is very important in the fashion industry and in your room. The best things would be tract lighting around the ceiling or rope lights hung from around the ceiling from hooks. Or you could add a little of the spotlight with two of these one either side of your bed…
Add some decorative scarves to these lamps to really make a statement!
4. Window dressing is key! If I were you I’d do a dramatic black and white theme to really flare off the room or just white to soften the look and accentuate other areas…
I’ve done a double curtain (two rods, two sets of curtains) in my house…This may work well with you…I do a darker curtain over a sheer white curtain and use ties or a holder to hold the dark ones back for a dramatic look…
Here’s some curtains I think would look great with the above paint…
To REALLY dress up a single rod design add a scarf like this over your curtains…Hook it on the corners of the rod and let it hand down in the middle for a sweeping look…

Something I saw in a teen’s room that was really fun was they painted one wall with magnetic paint (i think you can get it at Sears) and then over it with their own color. the whole wall or closet doors etc.. then becomes a magnetic bulletin board.
One of the walls can be painted and then using “back splash board” from Home Depot, you can cut circles, squares or whatever shape and put these shapes or discs on the wall with Velcro. They are basically dry erase boards. Then whenever a friend comes over, they can leave a personalized message, comment, observation, nice thought etc… on your teens wall.
Graffiti without a permanent mess. It becomes fun for friends to come over and see what others have written on their friends wall. And then of course you get cool points for being parents that let their kids have writing all over the walls..
