Keep it simple: white or white lace curtains, a picture or two on the walls, and a simple lamp that matches your furniture or bedspread. Less is more.

here’s what we did for my daughter when she was 14. we bought about a dozen different sized and styles vases from flea markets for under a dollar each. we spray painted them all white(only took 1 can spray paint). then we did the same thing using old picture frames of all shapes and sizes (no pictures or glass in them). we hung these on the wall above the vases. looked very sophisticated but also fun. and the whole project cost about 25 dollars

Look at the weight and quality of the fabric. You may want to restore or renovate the external appearance of furniture if it is shabby or drab. Curtains or blinds allow you to play with light.
