What? That girl needs some privacy! I don't care that the boy is only three or that she's his aunt. He will be five in two years.

Hi,

Kids are always attracted towards colorful objects. Applying fascinating color themes on walls adds a lot of fun to their room. Let’s discuss several color combinations, themes and a lot of fun items of their interests.

My uncle solved the same problem with my two cousins by putting up hanging louvered doors in half of the room (and it was a small room).
That way each could have their own decorations and a small amount of privacy. He used louvered doors so the air could circulate, but if that isn*t a problem you could just use plywood or even Styrofoam sheets and then use the sheets as bulletin boards. The Styrofoam sheets could easily be hung with cup hooks. He hung the doors on sliding tracks so they could be slid out of the way if needed. but you could also just use plain sheets if money is a problem

A room is all about how you position the furniture. You could also try buying a curtain or some kind of divider to seperate the areas. This sounds kind of tacky but here's a picture of what I'm talking about:

(one bed on one side, the other on the other side)

Also, since she likes the color green and this color is fairly neutral, you have a couple options.

1) You could paint her side of the room a lighter, more pastel and girly green, and his side a dark more masculine green

2) You could layer the paint which means start dark at the bottom and then slowly blend and make a lighter green on top. This would look really cool.

Then finally I would just suggest keeping their things seperate and organized and trying to decorate his rooms with dinosours, etc without it interfering with her space.

Good luck!

I think you could always incorporate chocolate and perhaps green or chocolate and yellow. Chocolate is really a popular color now and neither green nor yellow is gender-biased.

interesting dilemma. I would go to ikea or container store for storage furniture to keep the gender specific stuff (cars, toys) stored away, and use neutral colors for decorating?
