I recently answered a similar question, so forgive my laziness by pasting it again here. I hope the information will be helpful:
“There are some great temporary wall decals that can transform the room. They do not damage the walls and can be moved around depending on your mood. Many companies make them, but I attached the link of one so you can see the designs and colors available.
Bedding can always liven up a room. A new comforter will change the whole feel of the room. You can also just buy a few duvet covers so you can swap them out as you get tired of them. Or go with a neutral color for the bedspread and change out the pillowcases and throw pillows. If you are on a tight budget, buy plain throw pillows and sew different cases for them yourself.
You can also change the curtains quite easily and inexpensively. It’s a great option to make an impact on the wall without having to paint.
Good luck and have fun!”

A colorful lime bedding covers would look good,a bookcase gives the room a sense of maturity,a desk is a place for her homework, carpet near the bad gives it a homely feeling,a mini lava lamp would look awesome, and what about a normal wooden headboard for the bed.
